A mixed media birch cradled panel, with collage from various elements including fabric, acrylic paint, ink and pearlised powders. The collage is sealed with over 10 layers of high-gloss varnish which really brings out the colours in the fabric and other elements. Viewed from different angles the collage will reflect beautifully in the light.
Under the collage there are verses from the Russian poet Sergei Yesenin. The poem was composed in 1925. Roughly translated: (He) who has loved, cannot love any more; (he) who has burnt, cannot be rekindled. I chose these verses from my love of the Russian language in poetry form, and to complement the dandelion head fabric ('loves me, loves me not')
The panel is signed with my artist initials on reverse and painted with acrylic. You could hang the panel 'as is' , as the sides are painted.
