This work is a study work for a larger piece and a potentially larger collection.
The works is heavily under textured, with raised areas and marks, the background is an expressive work of acrylic paint, oil pastels and spray paint. The portrait itself is painted in oil's and has purposely been left unfinished (my signature style).
The idea behind why many of my works are purposely left unfinished is that we see people as we want to see them, and there are elements of people we will never visually experience. An unfinished work fores the the viewer to create their own mental image, to fill in the gaps, as such everyone's view of this work will be different to the next person, while at the same time never seeing the true full finished representation of that person.
This is a portrait of the Korean singer Felix and is a study for a larger collection on Idolatry.
