This is a sunset scene at Point Lobos Nature Reserve near Carmel-by-the-Sea, California - one of many coves with hidden beaches. This one is actually called The Hidden Beach.

Materials used to create this work:
This is a 5"x7" gouache painting on 140 lbs 100% cotton cold pressed french paper on acid free laminated sheet.
Gouache is very closely related to watercolor. It uses the same gum Arabic binder, but has more pigment which is not ground as finely as watercolor.

This painting is protected with a sealing wax medium, which is buffed to a luster finish.
Sealing Wax Medium makes it possible to display the artwork without a glass.
This painting is sold unframed. It can either be displayed on a decorative easel (not included) on a shelf or a table-top, or can be framed to hang on the wall. It will easily fit in a standard (US) 5"x7" frame.
