Original artwork description:

Watch your chips! For day 17 of #birbfest2024 is the seaside staple, the herring gull. When you hear one of these birds call, no matter where you are, an instant transportation takes place. The smell of briny air, the sound of crashing waves and the brain freeze of a 99 follow.

These gulls are incredibly industrious, working hard to fill their stomachs. That could involve them dropping crabs and mussels from great heights to access the sweet meat within or dive bombing a five year old with an a loosely guarded ham sandwich.

A4 acrylic, pencil and ink on 250gsm paper.

Materials used:

Acrylic and pencil on 250gsm paper
