Idea
The idea of loneliness and isolation plays a central role in this work. At first glance, the viewer is amused by how strange and comical the situation depicted may be: a small chimpanzee monkey sits crouched on a chunk of ice that is drifting aimlessly somewhere in the ocean, a rather frightening idea if you were to put yourself in the monkey's position. But the monkey seems to be content, a little sad, perhaps he has come to terms with the situation and trusts in his fate. At the same time, the work brings with it a certain hope, because it is not yet clear how it will end for the monkey, who knows, maybe he will reach his goal in the end, where he always wanted to be.

Statement of the work
In a certain way, the viewer could identify with the monkey: as a human being, you often feel lonely, abandoned and isolated, but there is always hope for the best. On the other hand, many would see a direct allusion to climate change, which, due to the rise in temperature, causes the melting of ice and thus the change in the world.

Painting technique
As in all my works, I attach great importance to the most realistic representation possible in order to make the message of the picture and the situation depicted seem as real as possible. This fact enables the viewer to put themselves in the picture and dream.
