This painting was created in the city of Tromsø, located in northern Norway, which was the starting point for the great polar expeditions of Nansen and Amundsen in the 19th century. The city, which played a key role in the exploration of unknown lands, inspired me to create this series of works. For me, Tromsø is not just a tourist destination; it is a space filled with dreams of the new, the creation of plans for the future, and a sense of openness, vastness, and freedom. During the plein air, I searched for the unique color of Norway. This work is part of a series presented at the Nelimarkko Art Museum in Finland, and it conveys a sense of dreaminess and uncertainty, a spirit of exploration.
