Hereford cattle are very popular around where I live in Monmouthshire, Wales, which is not far from Herefordshire. They are very good-looking animals, and interesting to paint with their dark red to red-yellow colouring, white faces, dewlaps, and bellies. They often have white markings on the lower legs, and some have short thick horns that typically curve down at the sides of the head. We sometimes see Herefords when out walking; they are friendly animals who will often come to the field gate to greet us.
