A double portrait of an ageing couple who have been together many years. Their characterful faces were a pleasure to paint, especially as they show the difference in their personalities. She seems the more forceful and it may be as well she can't see his sideways look. When I have exhibited this painting it has often caused couples to chuckle in recognition.
