“Her World” is a deeply personal exploration of a person who lives in darkness and depression. This maximalist piece, measuring 118 cm by 87 cm, immerses the viewer in a labyrinthine landscape of swirling, distorted forms and haunting figures. The central figure embodies the struggle to find joy amidst a chaotic inner world, reflecting the subject’s emotional turmoil and melancholy._x000D_ _x000D_ Despite the haunting and disturbing appearance of the hallucinations, they are actually beautiful, peaceful, and loving to me. This duality is at the heart of the painting, juxtaposing the subject’s pessimism with my serene perception of these visions. My signature, boldly written in bright blue, stands out against the darker palette, symbolizing my separation from the depicted despair. I’m a London-based artist, and my work often reflects vivid and surreal imagery inspired by my unique experience with REM intrusion—a condition where dream-like visions can appear while I’m awake. My paintings explore the boundary between waking reality and the dream world, using layered compositions to create a sense of depth and movement. I paint with high-quality materials and put a lot of thought into texture and detail. My process is a mix of intuitive brushwork and deliberate layering, aiming to create pieces that are rich in emotion and invite you to see something new each time you look at them.
