With closed eyes and white lace enclosing her shoulders, this woman's desire is portrayed by a blue flower glowing at her bosom.

It is a subtly coloured image in graphite and white watercolour on soft grey textured paper. I've added a dash of blue and a hint of pink on her lips and breasts.

I feel that these subdued colours lend a quiet contemplative mood to illustrate the feeling that I wanted to convey - for those times that desire that has to reside quietly in one's heart.

For this series on A3 paper I use only Winsor & Newton professional watercolours on Khadi handmade cotton rag paper from India - it is a beautiful medium weight 210 gsm paper with a deckled edge and I love working on it). I think that in this image because her nipples are so close to the edge of the paper that it might be an idea to mount (mat) the image 'floated' to show off the attractive edge of the paper! In the last two photographs I have made a CGI of the paper framed in white and in black, to illustrate how this might appear.
