This installation represents two human hands folded in a gesture of prayer. It is a gesture of greeting, a request, a wish for peace or harmony. However, the same gesture can be interpreted in two ways, as in this installation. By changing the angle of view, the spectator sees a gesture of "stop", "don't", "don't come near".
With this installation Valeria Golovenkina shows the duality of the human soul - the desire for closeness and its simultaneous rejection. These opposite feelings, personal behavioral phenomena and traumas that coexist in one body are what make us human.
