Original artwork description:

Getting carried away on a hope and a prayer.
‘Helium Angel’ is a painting inflated by joy and sadness. The cloudscape appears to be somewhat overbearing, a representation of nature’s raw power and its dominance over our trivialities. However, the background is also one of majesty and beauty and provides a wonderful playground for a playful mind and a setting for the imagination to circumnavigate grief
The piece also explores reasons for faith and for an instinct to clutch at straws. The angel balloon is not a representation of a fervent belief, but of a simple hope. A hope that can easily be deflated or fall prey to a curious seagull.
