This painting is inspired from my many trips to the Oregon Coast. Heceta Head is a beautiful spot along the coast. It's one of my favorite places to stop and do some plein air painting. "Reflections of Dusk" draws you into a captivating moment at the shoreline, where the rhythmic lapping of waves meets the soft glow of a setting sun. Measuring 9x12 inches, this oil painting crafts a serene beachscape, perfectly capturing the ephemeral beauty of the coastline at sunset. In the foreground, a finely detailed sandy shore gently leads the eye to the water, which mirrors the brilliant colors of the sky. The vibrant hues of rich yellows, oranges, and purples dance together, creating a vivid tapestry of color that envelops the viewer in warmth and calm.

The sky, interwoven with dramatic clouds indulging in the sunset’s glow, serves as an arresting backdrop to the scene. Two majestic rocky formations stand as silent sentinels rising from the sea, while to the right, a cliff draped in dark, leafy foliage adds a touch of mystery to the tranquil vista.
