Title : Hebridean Love

Who knows when love will appear and disappear like the waves in the sea. A deserted beach at dawn on a delicate morning on a remote island - could there be anything more romantic? When even the tide seems to echo your mood and your heart fills with love the world seems idyllic.

An unashamedly romantic piece that is totally real, this beautiful heart formed over a few minutes as the tide came in on the beach at Luskentyre on the Isle of Harris. The heart grew little by little as the waves came ashore until it seemed impossibly perfect.

A single image in camera taken over the course of a few seconds at dawn, very little processing.

A choice of white on the sides or gallery wrapped (image continues round the sides), let me know when ordering which you prefer.

About My Work
I am passionate about creating images of the landscape around Skye and the Outer Hebridean islands. The land, the people and the history are woven together to create a place of endless mystery.

I love working with luxury paper and canvas materials that hold their colours for a lifetime. For these special large prints of my work I use dreamy, light textured Canson Canvas and the highest quality inks. I do all my own printing, having spent years learning this skill I prefer to maintain control of the colour representation at all stages to ensure you get a truly handmade image.

About My Materials
People often say that my images look like paintings because of the richness of the colours, the depth of the black and the texture of the materials I use. Canson are one of the oldest paper manufacturers in the world, they have been making paper for over 450 years in France. Founded in 1557 and printers to Louis XVI, their paper was used by Voltaire and Napoleon and the Montgolfier brothers used Canson paper to make the first hot air balloon. Canson paper was used by Picasso, Ingres, Chagal, Miro and many other artists. They have been making paper and canvas for photography since this art began over 150 years ago. Canson are Eco Friendly - they purchase paper pulp only from forests managed in a sustainable way which also makes them pretty special.

Other Sizes
This print is available in other sizes on canvas or paper. I am happy to take custom orders, just drop me a line.

A Note on Canvases
Canvases are unframed and unmounted, they need to be stretched or framed once you get them. They are matte varnished and come with 1.5 inch (4cm) gallery wrap or with white or dark coloured sides, just let me know which you prefer. Once ready, they are carefully wrapped in acid free tissue then shipped in a sturdy art tube to ensure safe delivery. All taxes and duties to be paid by the receiver.

Thanks for looking, if you have any questions just let me know.
