Contemporary style English landscape painting inspired by the Fells of the Lake District in England. Painted in a loose gestural style with a palette knife in muted red ochre and magenta colours representing the purple heather moorland hillside on a summers day.
In this small study I have tried to portray the atmosphere of a tranquil and peaceful scene on a bright summers day in this area of rugged mountains, with small flowing streams.

Painted with a palette knife and fingers, using quality artists acrylics on a small square format 8" x 8" (20 x 20cm) canvas, with a varnish finish and white hand painted wooden frame with cord ready to hang.
