Heather at East Loch Tarbert is a direct response to sailing in the Western Isles of Scotland in the summer of 2012. Inspired by the contrast between cold relentless rain punctuated by hot, blue, July skies and the surrounding flora and fauna I made the work on the yacht which, is why it is small, as I was limited by space and materials. Within it somewhere are fragments of the elements I am depicting, my internal voyage at that time and also a great deal of joy. These small pieces are in white, hand made and hand painted, contemporary style, wooden box frames. I can email you the framed image on request.
