This acrylic on linen riverscape is based on a photograph I took heading up-river on the Connecticut, obviously heading home and into a sunset. What struck me about this particular sunset, besides the intensity of the orangey-rose and the deep lavender clouds, was the yellow in the sky beyond without even a hint of the day's blue. The golden light of the setting sun was striking high clouds above the cumulous clustered lower down. The dimensions are 36x24 inches (91.5x61 cm) and this is framed in a 3-inch wide mahogany plein air frame which complements the darker tones and highlights the brighter ones. Signed and dated in verso, this is shipped with a digitally-registered Certificate of Authenticity.
