I used layers of lines to form the picture.
I love to work quickly to music and experiment with colours.
I find it very satisfying to work with different sized brushes to bring rhythm and emphasis to the composition.
This man struck me with his presence. I was impressed by his quiet strength, confidence and an almost brooding depth of character in his manner and dark looks.
The painting is one of a series of linear portraits of him,
all from one morning session at Dynamic Drawing,
Byron Bay, NSW, Australia.
