Before any sign of spring chasing away the late winter the lochs and mountains around the Isle of Harris, hebrides are sporadically still in the grip of storms and ensuing snow.

The turquoise of the bay battles to make an appearance through the snow sweeping up the valley and camouflaging the mountains surrounding the sullen waters. Paul has an enduring vision of the moods and drama around Harris and has endeavoured to capture the essence of the bleakness and beauty of the wonderful winter scapes around Tarbert with loose brushstrokes and impasto oils.
