‘Harmony’ is an original painting by British artist Sian Storey, and is the latest in her ongoing series of paintings that explore the opulence, colour and texture of the peacock.

A beautiful and decadent painting featuring a golden circle backdrop that is ever-changing as the light dances on the exuberant surface. This painting is sure to add a luxurious and warm feel to your living space. The birds overflow with splendour, with a soothing palette of blues, pinks and rich gold. The peacocks sit proudly, and entwined, with their colourful tails framing the composition, whilst the wild blossoms add energy and movement to the canvas.

Sian used acrylic and spray paint on a rectangular canvas sized at 50 x 100 x 5cm, and the painting is signed by the artist on the front and reverse.

Sian is continually inspired by the sheer beauty of nature, and in particular birds. She was drawn to the peacock because of their recognisable markings and opulent colour. She also felt inspired by their symbolism of vision and awakening, and in this painting, she's surrounded the birds with beautiful spring-like blossoms. Here, Sian has used a gold circle design to represent harmony and eternity.

‘Harmony’ was painted in Sian Storey’s studio during Spring 2020, in Hampshire, England. Using acrylics and spray paint, you'll see detailed, delicate brushwork. Look closely, and you'll see thick painterly textures and brushstrokes - the true mark of a one-off work of art.

Sian paints in layers, building up layers as she goes. The spray paint is used to diffuse edges and lines, creating a hazy, ethereal finish.
