Original artwork description:

This cobbled roadway still exists today and marks the approach to the harbour in Folkestone, Some of the buildings retain the old cladding of the 1900's. When I visited in 2010 it was quite eerie to walk along the same roadway from a hundred years before with little changing in that time. I love the scene of the old photo I painted the picture from. The old fella in the warehouse seems quite perturbed by the arrival of the lady with her luggage.

Materials used:

Bockingford watercolour paper and watercolour warm sepia
