This painting on canvas was inspired by a recent visit to Whitby in Yorkshire.
I liked the strong interlocking shapes of the harbour walls, contrasted with the soft movement and patterns in the sea.
The painting is abstract but is taken from my direct and personal experience of the place. It is bold and gives a feeling of the safe enclosure of the harbour.
