I lived most of my life away from the sea. But the beauty of seascapes and especially sailing ships always awakened my imagination. And now, living by the sea, I never tire of admiring it and writing marinas. This watercolor was painted in one of the most picturesque places in Ålesund, near the Molja ferry station. The lighthouse was built here in 1858. and became one of the city’s attractions, beloved by both citizens and tourists.
