Oriental and vibrant still life.
I have a great appreciation for oriental things. This stems from the fact that my mother was half Chinese and grew up in Shanghai. Consequently my home is filled with Chinese furniture, screens, cloisonné vases, buddhas, etc., which frequently feature in my paintings.
This painting depicts a happy buddha and delicate, white lisianthus flowers. It employs clean, fresh colours giving a light and happy atmosphere.
