Original artwork description:

Surfing is a local obsession where I live and it's de rigueur to have a long board strapped to your roof just in case the swell is up! My surfing days are over, but i can still admire those that do - their passion and fitness for something that is more religion than sport :) Anyway - my depiction of a dude surfing the barrel - in Pencil. A really difficult draw which took way too long to finish and one that will almost definitely not be repeated :)

Drawn as always on smooth Bristol Board with Faber Castell 9000 series pencils and a Tomo Zero eraser - size for this drawing was c35cm X 60cm - Time Taken c40+ hours.

Following a 20 year Hiatus Paul picked up his pencils again and started drawing back in 2012. Turning professional in 2016 Paul has won accolades across the globe, initially exhibiting and selling work in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand he now resides in the centre for contemporary British Art and the Tate Modern Gallery, St. Ives, cornwall.
From his open studio and commercial gallery in the town he spends hours, weeks and months drawing incredibly detailed images inspired by the plethora of artists and art in the local area.
His work is on permanent display in the ry in St. Ives and with individual and corporate collections across the world.

The drawing is being sold unframed to reduce shipping costs - however I can offer a bespoke framing service as required - just send me a message to discuss.

*Images showing the drawing in a frame and in various room settings are for illustration purposes only.
