Original artwork description:

An original Pencil drawing by Paul Stowe - the epic Halo game series I give you, Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 - In Pencil no less :)

Along with this epic video game series, this was an epic drawing, you never really understand how much detail is involved in these characters until you try to draw them, my hat goes off to the original artists who create these fantastic characters from scratch - they have enormous imaginations and have incredible attention to detail.

Anyway, loved drawing this one - on Bristol Board Smooth A3 Size paper, usual mix of mechanical and traditional pencils - with one exception.... I normally use a Faber Castell 8B for the very dark areas and 'black-outs', this time I have used Steadler Mars Lumograph 8B which gives that very dark black without any of the shine from the Faber Castell - it is not as easy to blend or fade, but is great for making black - really black :) The only other unusual tool used was 'Tipp-Ex' for the stars! Time - about 20 hours.

Size for this drawing was 27cm X 37cm

Following a 20 year Hiatus Paul picked up his pencils again and started drawing back in 2012. Turning professional in 2016 Paul has won accolades across the globe, initially exhibiting and selling work in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand he now resides in the centre for contemporary British Art and the Tate Modern Gallery, St. Ives, cornwall.
From his open studio and commercial gallery in the town he spends hours, weeks and months drawing incredibly detailed images inspired by the plethora of artists and art in the local area.
His work is on permanent display in the gallery in St. Ives and with individual and corporate collections across the world.

The drawing is being sold unframed to reduce shipping costs - however I can offer a bespoke framing service as required - just send me a message to discuss.

*Images showing the drawing in a frame and in various room settings are for illustration purposes only.

Materials used:

Graphite Pencil
