Hallelujah bay sunset, Isle of Portland, Dorset
A wild coast,
The atmospheric sunset,
Ethereal and beautiful,
Violet and soft earthy hues,
Holding on to that special moment.

Words and feelings.
From the west cove of the Isle of Portland on the Dorset coast you walk along and you see the most amazing sunsets. This original watercolour is inspired from my visits of this area.
I used a wet on wet washes and to achieve the etherealness I didn’t let the paper dry until I had finished. I had to start with the yellow wash, then the orange and so on.

Rough textured watercolour paper Saunders Waterford 300 gsm 140 lb, Holbein watercolours, sable hair brush, bushy hogs hair brush,
