its easy to tell this painting was a long time work in progress due to the variety of textures and many layers of under coloring. I am trying to simplify the compositions; to be mindful of overall composition than shapes and components - and work with colors that are expressive independently of the form. This is a depiction of the human story of Christ, the starkness of human cruelty and intolerance without the context of history and religion.
