Original artwork description:

I came across these local eggs and knew I had to paint them; a couple of creamy white ones and a range of nutty brown ones. I dampened them with water to give them a bit more shine, and laid them on some black fabric with a shaft of light coming in from the left. I decided to compose the picture as a diptych, and the two canvases can be hung tight together or a few centimetres apart. Perfect for a kitchen or dining area!
Each canvas is 30 x 30cm, hence the overall size of both canvases together is 60 x 30cm. They have a deep profile (4cm) which is painted black, so frames are not necessary for a contemporary look, although they could be added later if desired.
