Original watercolor painting "Hagia Sophia of Istanbul" muslim art was painted from life during my plein-air cycling trip around Turkey in the winter of 2021.

To see the Cathedral of St. Sophia of Constantinople was my old dream that came true this winter. I not only saw the cathedral outside and inside, but also painted it.

The majesty, power and beauty of the cathedral amazes even today, more than a thousand years after its creation, and I tried to convey with paints on paper all the love and awe from meeting this majestic temple.

The painting was made by professional Italian watercolors Maimeri Blu on 100% cotton French watercolor paper Arches 300 g
