Original artwork description:

Artwork in figurative expressionist style, structured in a particularly articulate and full-bodied pictorial matter and saturated colors to communicate the poignant passion of Habanera, one of the most famous arias from Carmen, Georges Bizet's opéra-comique (1845).  The term "Habanera" (or "Havanaise", in French) indicates a popular dance of Cuban origin - hence the name, which comes from the city of Havana - with a slow rhythm, similar to tango. The Habanera from Carmen is one of the most famous opera arias in the world.
