Original artwork description:

Features a close-up view of an iris flower of the variety named "Gypsy Romance". The iris features magenta petals with dark red shadows and pink highlights. Iridescent pearl paint has been incorporated into the colors. The shapes of the petals are enhanced by paint thickly applied with both palette knife and brush. The flower is also accented by green leaves and a background of green and purple. Running and dripping effects in the background were created with casein paint, then glazed over with oil. Painted from life at Boerner Botanical Gardens in WI with Oil over casein paint on board. Framed in a 3" wide wood frame with a mahogany colored finish. 16.5" tall by 16.5" wide by 1" deep framed. May be purchased unframed by request.
