Painted on-site at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners, WI. Features an iris flower of the variety named "Gypsy Romance" in shades of deep magenta and burgundy, with lavender-blue and bronze highlights, and deep purple beards. The variegated blue background is created with oil over casein paint, and accented with blue-green leaves. The flower is painted with both brush and palette knife, and the petal shapes are enhanced by the texture of the paint.
Painted in oil over casein on board. Framed in a 2.5" wide wood frame with a red-brown wood grain finish. May also be purchased unframed.
