“Dawn Roofs” is an atmospheric painting filled with soft pastel shades, which guess the awakening light of early morning. In the morning light, the sea and the rooftops shimmer with pearlescent highlights, like the inner surface of a seashell, which is not accidental: this idea was born as a tribute to the Crimea, which is often called a unique natural pearl. In the foreground, among the vague outlines of cypresses and houses, sits a black-and-white cat, as if protecting the silence of the awakening city. Delicate transitions of colors remind of the sea air and the calm rhythm of the southern coast, and transparent layers of colors create a sense of light haze. The work conveys the mood of peace, when nature and man have not yet emerged from the slumber of the night, but the anticipation of a new day is already felt.
