The work is handmade and each piece is unique.
Gum bichromate is a 19th century photographic printing process based on the light sensitivity of dichromates. It allows pictorial images to be obtained from photographic negatives. Gum printing is traditionally a multi-layered printing process, but satisfactory results can be obtained with a single pass. Any colour can be used for rubber printing, so it is also possible to produce natural colour photographs using this layered technique.
In this work I have mixed a layer of bichromate gum and a layer of cyanotype.
Image format: 32x44 cm on 250 gsm Fabriano watercolour paper.
