Original artwork description:

I love the peculiar shape of guinea fowl and I love the black and white spotty pattern on their feathers. I enjoyed using a mixture of patterned paper and paint to capture this birds spots.

I start the canvas with a rough pencil sketch and then I add the coloured paper before building up the layers with acrylic paint. The last thing I add are the embellishments of thread, beads, buttons and glitter to pick out or highlight certain areas.
