Shortly before the pandemic I felt that something was going to happen, it often happens to me before a new idea is born.
But this time around, I had the feeling that something was going to happen in relation to the environment, that it was going to affect us, and from this thought the ‘Guardians’ series was born.
Labyrinths, circles, suns, lights and shadows, are the environment of ethereal beings that in the paintings are in a peaceful and even graceful way, to defend the four constituent elements of all that exists plus the ether.
As I felt that they should have light, I applied sheets of metals, gold indicating wisdom, silver in relation to the feminine, to the moon, and copper, closer to man.
The sun, the center of our universe, illuminates the life that the Guardians protect. All wrapped in an almost unreal world full of color.
They are undoubtedly related to the present time, and the need to take care of our environment.
And, on the other hand, wouldn't it be nice to shine in the darkness not because of our clothing but because of our own Light?
This painting that means so much to me, has real gold leaves on the canvas and is an unique artwork
