This painting is part of my Steppes series, exploring the deep spiritual and cultural ties between land and identity. The composition is rooted in the ancient symbol of Kozak Mamay, a peaceful yet powerful figure who embodies the heart of Ukrainian freedom and endurance.
As dawn breaks over wheat fields and distant hills, the presence of Mamay in the sky reflects the inner light that guides a nation through hardship. Crafted with layered textures and natural elements, the piece speaks to both personal and collective strength.
