Original artwork description:

Recently, I happened to pass by a place that was very familiar to me, years ago. I had walked there daily, thinking and praying about a problem I couldn’t solve. My thoughts seemed to follow the same mental grooves, and I felt stuck, unable to find a solution. Now, when I passed by that area, I saw that it was just as I remembered it. It had not changed, but I realized that I had changed: I was no longer trapped in that mental landscape. So I created this series of paintings to offer hope to anyone who feels as I did, and to remind them of the closing verse of Psalm 27, which says: “Wait for the Lord. Be stouthearted and wait for the Lord.” Give your problem over to the Lord, and grace will happen, even if it takes a long time for the results to outwardly show.
This painting is done in acrylic and oil, in a dramatic palette of red, black, white and gold—with viridian accents. It has been given a satin varnish for protection. Hanging hardware is already installed.

Materials used:

acrylic and oil on canvas
