Original artwork description:

Small head of a boy painted in grisaille. The only colour I wanted to be strong in this sketch was the yellow of the head scarf.

I painted this in love for the strong bright colours of El Greco...When I think of his work I think of the pale almost black and white bodies of his work which are very often clad in bright startling drapery which I find to be a fascinating balance.
