Artwork description:

A three colour screen print on Somerset Satin 300gsm paper. A group of lightships floating in a kind of dusk half light, very still and quite distant. The ships were drawn in gouache with a brush onto film, in order to be transferred onto the silkscreen for printing. The marks were made very simply, copied from photographs and old postcards, trying as much as possible to bring out the strangeness of these ships, and a sense of the solitude of life as crew on a lightship. This is my largest print.

Materials used:

Paper, screen print ink
