Original artwork description:

A carved relief wall-piece consisting of a central carved roundel surrounded with attached carved leaf shapes. This is the second piece in a series of which "We Can't Live on Mars" is the third; dwelling on issues about our relationship with the earth we inhabit. In the centre is the beginning of all things round which dance the beings of earth, water and air. Then I celebrate number and geometry and pair up flowers with car wheels, maybe nudging a critical hint at the abundant prevalence of the motor car. I'm always drawing and carving varieties of tree leaves and this collection completes the composition.

Materials used:

Various soft woods, watercolour paint, acrylic paint, acrylic varnish.
