A European green crab painted in expressive style acrylics.The vibrancy and brightness of acrylic paints does justice to this amazing creature; which is a joy to paint- with so many textures to play around with!
I have used more colors than it actually sports, but that is the beauty of this portrait.Set against the mix of a pale yellow and powder blue background, it has been painted with big, gestural strokes.
The painting was done on a high quality Ampersand board with a wide wooden base; using artist grade acrylic paints. The art has been extended to the sides so that it can hang without a frame. I have finished the artwork with two coats of spray varnish to protect it from UV rays and other atmospheric elements.
Ready to hang, it comes complete with the hanging hook.
