This was a glorious sunset evening painting up on the Blue Ridge at about 4,000 feet. I was drawn to the burst of sunlight on the dense trees contrasted against the roiling clouds. Nothing like plein air to make you focus on the essence of a scene rather than the details - or maybe it was the thinner air? Oil on Fredricks panel, 11 X 14"
