Original artwork description:

‘GREEN BEACH’ is an acrylic painting developed from observations of the coastal landscape of Sefton U.K. where I live and in particular the dramatic skies seen at dawn and twilight. The ‘Green Beach’ is an area of natural beauty. The Ainsdale and Birkdale sand hills nature reserve is one of the largest areas of wild dune land left in Britain. The reserve is rich in plant life. During the summer months damp slacks are carpeted with flowers including Early-marsh Orchid, Marsh Helleborine and Grass of Parnassus. In drier slacks the Round-leaved Wintergreen and nationally rare Dune Helleborine can be found. The area is home to a variety of sea birds. I walk the Green Beach every morning. The painting is expressive and gestural reflecting the colours and character of this dramatic location. I am always inspired by the work of the Fauvists and the Expressionists together with modernists Gillian Ayres, Howard Hodgkin, Patrick Heron, David Hockney and John Hoyland.
“GREEN BEACH” is an acrylic painting on 300gms canvas paper. It is 40cms wide and 30cms in height. It is presented/shipped in an ivory card window mount (see pictures) 50x40cms at a cost of £250, not including postage. The mounted painting is shipped in a reinforced card folder.
The painting can also be purchased in a white glazed frame 53x43cms (see pictures) at a cost of £275 + postage. Postage for the framed / glazed picture in the U.K. is £20, to Europe £45 to U.S.A. £85.
