In July 2022, a huge fire devoured the forest where I had been painting for years.
It was an immense pain for me.
I made this painting a few weeks later, surrounded by ashes and desolation.
To my great emotion I saw some still green plants, spared by the fire.
And above the sky, as blue as ever.

This painting was done en plein air in August 2022, in a forest in the hills of Tuscany.
The work is painted in oil on paper, then stretched on 100% linen canvas mounted on a custom-made fir frame.
The signature is in the lower right corner.
The painting is protected with a layer of satin acrylic varnish.
The work comes with a thin fir frame, which deliberately shows the knots in the wood to better match the natural subject. The frame is stained brown. It is ready to hang.
The painting is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
"Green and blue in the wounded forest" is a literal translation of the original Italian title "Il verde e l'azzurro nel bosco ferito".
