Limited Edition large colour linocut of Great Dixter house and gardens in East Sussex.
This is a large linocut made using several carved blocks of lino, one for each colour. The ink is transferred to the paper by rubbing the back with a baren and a wooden spoon. (Takes a while!).
The actual print is 28cm wide and 37cm high (roughly A3 - so pretty big).
This is a variable edition of 50, and, as always with linocuts, each print will vary slightly since they are produced by hand. Each print is numbered, titled and signed on the front by me, the artist.
The main photograph shows the actual print for sale, which is no.5 in the edition.
Great Dixter is famous for its cottage garden style gardens, chock full of pollinator-friendly flowers and fruit trees – a very English heaven in spring, summer or autumn. It was the family home of gardener and gardening writer Christopher Lloyd, and is close to where I live in Hastings.
The linocut is printed in oil-based inks on acid free paper and comes with a mount, backing board and cellophane wrap so it is ready for a 40cm by 50cm frame.
Please note international orders will be posted without a mount and rolled in a tube with acid-free tissue.
