Part of a new series of artworks that are drawn on to a round canvas and sealed with acrylic binder, meaning it is ready to hang as it is.

The artwork depicts a man, waist deep in black water. This piece is representing the feeling of being lost and alone in relation to other people.

The drawing was created using a range of black and white pastels, on a circular canvas. I choose to draw in greytone to emphasise the values, creating dramatic lighting and a deep atmosphere. The resulting image is realistic, yet expressive.
