I've always thought those flowers were pretty but never did try to paint them - this has now changed!

I painted this when it was quite windy so I simulated the wind by painting the flowers more abstractly since this is similar to the way I was observing them. I focused on colors and I love the contrast of the vibrant red - violet - pink flowers against the dark green background.

Painted on acid-free sanded pastel paper with professional quality pastels, ensuring the painting stays the same for many decades.

pastelmat sanded paper, finest quality handmade soft pastels
