I love painting elephants with their incredible skin textures and unmatched elegance. Usually I paint those wrinkles in detail but sometimes its better to let the color take over. This painting was inspired by abstract emotions. It started with a loaded brush full of color, with no drawing underneath. From there it was simply a matter of letting the color run all over the paper, finding its way around- resulting in this majestic elephant portrait, full of vibrancy, energy and vigor.
I have used acrylic inks on textured watercolor paper to create this painting. It will come unframed; rolled up in a tube.
